Lightning Arrestor installation

The function of an external lightning protection system is to intercept, conduct and disperse a lightning strike safely to earth. Without such a system a building's structure, electronic systems and the people working around or within it are all at risk.

There are many ways in which lightning strikes can cause damage or injury. Lightning strikes (or even electrical discharges due to nearby lightning) can cause fires, explosions, chemical release or mechanical disruption within or around a building. Step and touch voltages generated from a lightning strike can cause injury, or even loss of life, to humans (and animals) in the close vicinity.

For our clients to have a safe home, we install lightning arresters on their houses to avoid being struck. A lightning arrester provides protection by routing the excess electricity away from the system into the ground, where it dissolves without doing any harm.

Electrical Earthing installation

Earthing is an important component of electrical systems because of the following reasons:

  • It keeps people safe by preventing electric shocks

  • It prevents damage to electrical appliances and devices by preventing excessive current from running through the circuit

  • It prevents the risk of fire that could otherwise be caused by current leakage

We professionally install Earthing to protect you from an electric shock. It does this by providing a path (a protective conductor) for a fault current to flow to earth. It also causes the protective device (either a circuit-breaker or fuse) to switch off the electric current to the circuit that has the fault. Electrical earthing conducts excessive electricity to the ground to avoid electric shocks.

Electrical Earthing

Electrical Earthing is the process of transferring the immediate discharge of the electrical energy directly to the earth by the use of a low resistance wire. The electrical earthing is done by connecting neutral of supply system to the ground or earth. Equipment Earthing is provided to the electrical equipment. The non-current carrying part of the equipment like their metallic frame is connected to the earth by the use of the low resistance conducting wire.

If any fault occurs in the equipment, the short-circuit current to pass the earth by the help of wire. Thus, protect the system from damage. Earthing provides the simple path to the leakage current. The short circuit current of the equipment is directed to the earth which protects the system and equipment from damage.

Importance of Electrical Earthing

The Electrical Earthing is essential because: -

  • The earthing protects the equipment and persons from the high voltage surges and lightning discharge.

  • The earthing protects the people from short circuits.

  • The earthing provides path to the flow of short circuit current even after the failure of the insulation.

  • Earthing in keeps the stable flow of electric current and provides constant protection against shocks and fires and other life hazards. The main objective of earthing is to provide an alternative channel for the faulty electricity to flow through to allow actual flow of current and keep the users and gadgets safe.

Earthing can be done by electrically connecting the respective parts in the installation to some system of electrical conductors or electrodes placed near the soil or below the ground level. The earthing mat or electrode under the ground level have flat iron riser through which all the non-current-carrying metallic parts of the equipment are connected.

NOTE: Earthing can only be completely safe if high quality materials are used. Otherwise there always remains a chance of short circuit and electrocution. Every home has delicate electrical gadgets like fridge, washing machine, microwave oven and food processor which require stability in the current supply.
